At long last, there is a very good chance that the coming months will see a far higher level of debate about critical issues than we have been used to for many, many years. That hypocrite Cameron calls Corbyn a threat to national security (http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/david-cameron-called-jeremy-corbyn-6435223) – the really frightening thing about language like that, is it is often a precursor to highly repressive state intrusion and control, along with the suppression of democracy and free thought. He has appointed a vegan to deal with farmers and rural affairs (http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/jeremy-corbyn-appoints-a-vegan-to-deal-with-britains-farmers-10500157.html). Instead of talking about nationalizing the railways, he may be better off talking about how he will reduce the travel costs of millions of people. I suspect I will have a lot more blog posts about this ‘earthquake’ in UK politics!
My new book ‘Nuclear Weapons and International Law was published on 8th August 2015, in memory of the signing of the document that became the Nuremberg Principles. Watch out for a new blog page giving details of the book.
This blog site is the beginning of my rambling thoughts about a whole range of subjects. I hope you find some of them interesting – sorry if some of them are boring! Please feel free to add comments, or sign up to receive notices about new posts and to receive a copy of my occasional newsletter.
